State the chemical’s process role
Coagulation addresses particles and colloids; dechlorination controls specified residual oxidants; antiscalant formulations address concentrate scaling risk; cleaners target existing fouling. Define the task before comparing feedstocks or finished formulations. A familiar chemical name is not a complete system solution.
Prepare the system requirements
Collect complete source-water analysis, membrane model, recovery rate, current chemicals and module-manufacturer procedures. For dechlorination, also specify the oxidant species, measurement basis and on-site monitoring method.
Compare like-for-like specifications
Compare products with different salt forms, hydration states or concentrations on the same active-component basis. Impurities, test methods, document version and delivery conditions also affect whether a product can enter the system. Different hydration or concentration bases must not be compared by product mass alone.
Respect the system boundary
Match upstream polymer carryover, oxidant tolerance and cleaning pH/temperature to the specific membrane documents. HEDP or ATMP feedstock alone is not a complete membrane-antiscalant formulation. Select online maintenance and offline cleaning separately. This guide gives no universal dosing ratio or membrane-compatibility guarantee.

Industry references describe general uses. Product specifications, certifications and application results require the corresponding supplier documentation.
